Mason - Edward Mason, a lace draughtsman and designer, came to Beeston from Lenton around 1880. In Beeston, he opened The Queens Hotel. His story is told here in that context

Bunning - Samuel Theodore Bunnings, started a railway porter, came to Beeston as its Station Master but went on to play a leading role at Beeston Brewery which he eventually controlled, managed through good times and bad and eventually oversaw its takeover by Shipstones. In the process, he became extremely wealthy.
